Our son is very pleased with these in that they are small enough to fit into his pocket, are already focused, and bring the ocean into view quite nicely from their temporary home in the hills. This is a replacement for binoculars destroyed in the Santa Barbara, CA Tea Fire Nov. 2008.
I even used them to jot down the license plate of a suspicious car in our neighborhood once. Excellent value and fit the bill perfectly. I also enjoy watching wildlife in my backyard with them too. Perfect. The only minor adjustment I made to them is I replaced the wide bulky strap with a long, slimmer, lanyard--never know when you'll have a standing ovation and it's good that you can comfortably put them around your neck. Fits nicely in most any purse (without the case) and one can enjoy actors' facial expressions and even the most smallest detail of their elaborate costumes and jewelry all the way from the upper balcony. No focus to constantly fiddle with in a live theatre show. I bought this extra set of Bushnell binoculars for our daughter when she'd accompany me to the theatre.
They are amazingly clear and perma focus works like a charmI would appreciate if they would be less bulkier, however not an issue for me. I use them to go to the Opera and to watch shows from a distance.
Even strangers questioned me about them and said they wish they had a pair. Never having to focus, like regular binoculars, was the greatest convenience. Buy these, you won't be disappointed. Bought 3 of these for my family before a trip to Alaska. These are GREAT binoculars.
I take them with me on my hikes and they fit into my baggy pocket, just wish they were a bit smaller. I like that I don't have to adjust anything for the focus. They are just a bit more bulky than what I would have liked.
